The novel begins with Tash arriving in Moscow, full of excitement and anticipation. She is eager to learn more about Tolstoy and his work, and she is especially interested in his novel Anna Karenina. However, Tash soon discovers that life in Russia is not as easy as she had imagined. The language is difficult, the culture is different, and the people are often cold and unfriendly.

Despite these challenges, Tash perseveres. She immerses herself in Tolstoy's work and begins to understand the depth and complexity of his writing. She also starts to make friends with some of the locals, including a young man named Ivan. Ivan is a kind and intelligent man who helps Tash to adjust to life in Russia.

As Tash and Ivan spend more time together, they begin to fall in love. However, their relationship is not without its challenges. Ivan is from a traditional Russian family, and he is not sure whether he can accept Tash's Western ways. Tash, for her part, is worried about how her family and friends will react to her relationship with a Russian man.

Despite these obstacles, Tash and Ivan are determined to make their relationship work. They learn to compromise and to accept each other's differences. They also find strength in their shared love of Tolstoy's work.

In the end, Tash and Ivan are able to overcome the challenges they face and build a lasting relationship. Tash Hearts Tolstoy is a moving and inspiring story about love, literature, and the human spirit.
